What does Peace Kawomera mean to you and your family?

It is an organization that assisted us to unite in a better-organized way. It also assisted us in getting a better market than the pervious one. Peace Kawomera gives hard cash. You take your coffee and get paid.

What was life like before Peace Kawomera?

Before there were no persons to look after the coffee. Now production has improved. Before, there was a very poor price. So when Peace Kawomera came the price now is much better.

Did you face any religious discrimination before Peace Kawomera formed?

Working together with Peace Kawomera has enabled people to work together. There wasn’t discrimination, but people weren’t working together, now they are.

How many children live in your home?

14 Biological, 45 grandchildren.

What does Fair Trade mean to you?

Fair Trade assists us in buying farming equipment, clothes, school fees, and bedding.

What are your hopes for the future?

I see a brighter future with Peace Kawomera and will expand my farm. I hope that the life of my grandchildren will be better than my own.
