Thanksgiving Coffee Company

TOUR SCHEDULE

The foundation of our work is the belief that business is all about relationships. Our business is built on the relationship between a farmer and the earth, between our company and that same farmer, and on the relationships we cultivate with coffee drinkers to build a market for that farmer’s coffee. Really, business has always been about relationships—it’s just unfortunate that for most of history, these relationships have been exploitative rather than fair, and blind rather than personal.

Mirembe Kawomera “Delicious Peace” Coffee is a revolutionary kind of product: it’s the story of the farmers who grow it, it’s their dream of peace, and it’s also a delicious coffee. It’s all of these things woven together to create a new kind of relationship…or should we say, a new kind of business?

What better way to cultivate these relationships than to spend time together?

Starting late next month, a delegation of four Ugandan coffee farmers and two Thanksgiving Coffee staff will travel to share the story of our efforts to build peace through fair trade. These four farmers will share the story of their struggle to overcome a history of religious conflict by uniting in a common effort to earn a fair price for their coffee. The delegation will include Sinina Namudosi (Muslim), Joab Jonadab Keki (Jewish), Margret Buhinizi (Catholic), and Samuel Ngugo (Anglican). Please stay tuned for more event details and specifics, and call Holly Moskowitz at 800-462-1999×49 for more information.

    Dear JJ,
What an amazing tour! You will be very very busy. Are you travelling by yourself? How is Rachel and your family doing?
I see you will be in Baltimore on March 12. Unfortunately, we will be attending an event in Washington D.C. for our son, Avi’s, organization, Alliance for Mid East Peace, so I am afraid we will not be able to come to the Baltimore event on your schedule.
We wish you the best of luck (mazel), and hope your trip is very very successful. Love, mama

  2. Gershom Sizomu Says:

JJ, I see that you will be in woodland hills and no time has been reserved to see your family in Belair. Will you just drive by us and go to woodland hills? whoever made this schedule should have known that we cherish family and that it is unacceptable for you to bypass us.
I hope that this can be rectified.
I wish all of you an enjoyable trip!
    Gershom

  3. Holly Says:

    Hi Gershom,
I’m sorry for the break in communication. We hope to see you at either (or both) of the two events in LA with your beautiful family. If you are unable to make the events, we will do our best to make time for a personal visit! Please email me (holly@thanksgivingcoffee.com), or JJ, your phone number and we will call you when we are in woodland hills.
    B’Shalom,
    Holly

    Gershom,

Just want to add to what Holly wrote, to say that JJ would like to stay with you if it’s possible, on that Monday or Tuesday night. I think he may have written you about this—the rest of us will stay with my Jaja, but he would love to to be with you and Tziporah, and the kids. We look forward to seeing you soon.
